Using the Animated Sweep Tool

Create a NURBS circle and...
-
rotate it 90 degrees on X
- set X, Y, Z scale = 3
- translate it -10 on X
- move its pivot point to 0, 0, 0
- select the circle, at frame 1, set a key frame (press "s")

Advance the playback to the last frame in the time line and...
- set translate Y to 6
- set rotate Y to 720
- set X, Y, Z scale to 0

In the Animation module, go to Animate, Create Animated Sweep, options box...
and check...
- Time Slider
- By Time = 1
- Surface = Open
- Output Geometry = NURBS
- Click Anim Sweep... it should look like figure 1

In the Hypergraph, delete the nurbsCircle1 and snapshot1Group nodes. The loftedSurface1 node
should be the only geometry node left...
Of course... you change the settings to your liking...
